Day 23:

Target: Pathsala Siliguri Patna

Target Kms: 850 kms

Targetting 850 kms today was a little optimistic as I had not done that since I took #StormShadow. The most I had done in a day was 881 kms but that was on the first day and the roads mostly were butter smooth and moreover it was Grey Stallion. Nonetheless I wanted to reach Patna by end of the day as I had to get an oil change done so according to the plan, I could get up relaxed the next day, get the oil change done and then leave Patna. So I got up earlier than other days ie 5:00AM and started off towards Siliguri.

The route I had planned was Pathsala-Bongaingaon-Alipurduar-Dhupguri-Jalpaiguri-Thakurganj-Forbesganj-Darbhanga-Muzzafarpur-Patna.

The roads passed through a beautiful tea gardens. My ride became slower as I could not use my phone for Navigation as the charger on the bike was not working. I had to depend on locals to find the best routes and the roads in good condition. Many however gave correct advice but some did give faulty leads.

Finally I crossed into West Bengal into Assam by about 2:30PM. The ride from Alipurduar to Khoribari ie about 170 kms took me about 4 hours.

By about 6:30 PM I reached Thakurganj. I took a tea break in Thakurganj and then continued towards Patna. The roads started going bad. I think the roads were under repair but the worst part was huge piles of road construction materials were dumped/piles in the middle of the roads.

Finally I reached Forbesganj by about 9:00PM. I stopped at a Dhabha for dinner. I checked up with a few friends of mine if it was safe to continue towards Patna after dark as there were lot of horror stories being spread. They said as it was a 4 lane road and quite a few vehicles moving on it always, there should not be an issue. Their words gave me confidence to move on. Also I did not find any big town on the way so I continued. By about 11:45 PM I reached Darbhanga. I was tired and sleepy so I thought of calling it a day & Checked in into a hotel close to the highway.

Day 21:Imphal-Kohima-Dimapur-Tezpur

Day 21: Imphal-Kohima-Dimapur-Tezpur Target Kms: 425. Going to bed last night I was praying that hopefully the next morning would be a great day. I got up by 5:30 AM planning to start off before 6:00AM as I also had to get the shocks checked at the Dimapur KTM. I started off by 5:50 AM and refueled #StormShadow and hit the Asia Highway 1 back to reach Dimapur by 11:00AM. Outskirts of Imphal  On the way I was caught by a little heavy fog & drizzle which delayed me to certain extent. I stopped for tea as the drizzle was quite heavy but later the weather became awesome and the ride was marvelous but for the roads. The surroundings were too attractive and I had to stop a lot to take pictures. Overall it was an amazing ride till Kohima. Day 16: Oasis in a Desert. This morning I got up at night well not like this  https://youtu.be/Tvqcf8-SF0E  but seriously since I slept by 9, I got up at about 2 am so I don't know if it is morning or night so I would say "This morning I got up at night". I sat in my bed wondering should I call off my ride or should I continue also if I have to continue then how and on what?
