Day 2 : 29 Under 30. A ride to 29 state capitals and 5 out of 7 Union Territories of India.
Vijaywada-Bhubaneshwar
Kms Planned: 777
Today I got up at 5 and planned to ride to Bhubaneshwar and beyond if time permitted. I got ready and started off by 6 am. As the dorm I stayed was quite crowded and without proper charging points, I could not transfer data from my GoPro to the laptop, nor charge the GoPro so I do not have videos of Day 2.
Somewhere near Rajamhundry
The Gujarati school where Grey Stallion was parked.
That's where I had parked myself for the night
By about 8 am my stomach started mumbling, so I stopped by a highway side to have some Dosas. The setup was a small one with dosas being cooked on stone with wood heating the stone. The dosas were awesome. I gobbled atleast 3 and then rode off. By about 9 I crossed the River Godavari and then Rajamhundry.
Breakfast joint
Rridge over River Godavari as shown in the map below
Paused a bit to enjoy the greenery
Statue of Swami Vivekananda in the background right on the highway
By about 2 I stopped for Lunch somewhere close to Vishakapatnam. I had a couple of Rotis with Egg
Bhurji and a dal. By about 5:40 I was on the border of Andhra and Odisha.
Roti, Egg Bhurji & Dal. Yumm
Welcome to Odisha
Grey Stallion at 5000 kms
By the time I reached Chatarpur it was quite dark. The highways are badly lit or not at all lit to be exact. I had to keep my auxiliary LED lights switched on most of the time which attracted a lot of insects. One such little rascal managed to get into my eye even though the visor was closed.
Even with the visor down, this rascal manage to suicide in my eye and stop me for my evening tea
Chai, chai ,chai
A strange thing happened here as I was riding, it suddenly started raining and I could see the rainfall
happening about 10 feet ahead of me. I slowed down and was riding slowly and for about a couple of kms did not get wet at all as the rains were moving ahead of me. I then said no point in playing games, I better reach fast even if I got drenched in rain.
I finally reached Bhubaneshwar by about 8:30. I then stopped outside the city in a Dhabha to have some food because I realized by now that Dhabas are the best place to have food with luggage loaded on the bike and the bike safely parked in front of your eyes. As I ordered my food, I browsed the internet on my mobile and booked a service apartment. I chose a service apartment as I thought they surely will have a secured parking.
Dinner at a dhaba outside Bhubaneshwar
Rabdi for dessert
My home for the night
This is how my saddlebag looked after smuggling mud from Andhra into Odisha.
Hope they don't book me for mining.

Route Taken: Vijaywada-Rajamhundry-Vishakapatnam-Srikakulam-Bhubaneshwar.
Road conditions: Awesome roads all along but huge truck traffic near Rajamhundry, Vishakapatnam, on Odisha border. Since the highways in Odisha had absolutely no lighting whatsoever, post dark the riding became slow.
Kms Done: 777 kms
